FAQ

How fast is the uScope MXII?

The uScopeMXII captures an area of 4mm x 3mm with full auto-focus, flat-field correction, white balance, and color correction as follows:

  • 40x Objective (1,200 frames) ≈ 20 minutes
  • 20x Objective (300 frames) ≈ 5 minutes
  • 10x Objective (80 frames) ≈ 80 seconds
  • 4x Objective (12 frames) ≈ 12 seconds

Does the uScope MXII have a manual or motion-control stage?

The uScopeMX is an automated digital microscope and includes a motion-control stage. The uScope Navigator software automatically moves to your area of interest to collect images or to scan tile sets.

What resolution is the uScope MXII?

The uScopeMX is wavelength-limited. Image resolution is governed by the wavelength of the visible light utilized. Objects as small as 0.5 microns can be resolved.

Is the uScope MXII a whole slide scanner?

The uScopeMXII is not considered to be a whole slide scanner but is suitable for scanning large areas of your slide.

uScopeMXII-20 Digital Microscope 20x (0.4NA) Objective

The uScopeMXII-20 digital microscope comes with a 20x/0.4NA 160mm conjugate objective. This model is suited to applications where very high depth of field is required. The uScopeMXII-20 has a wider depth of field than higher power models of the uScopeMXII. So, tissue samples and smears can be thicker with more of the image in focus. This unit is able to produce very high-quality images while browsing or scanning an area of interest.

Because of its size, the uScopeMXII is highly portable. The industry-standard USB interface makes it easy to plug in and start capturing images at work or on the road. It easily interfaces with standard desktop or laptop PCs and allows you to view and capture slide images in a wide variety of environments.

See Your Slide Immediately

Choose the Area of Interest to Tile

When you insert a slide, the uScope Navigator software immediately displays an overview image where you can select the area of interest from which to collect a set of tiles.

The region of interest can be selected from the available 20mmx34mm visible slide area. Once selected, the uScope Navigator prompts you for the job name and begins tiling.
